Re: Service Temporarily Unavailable

Whatever nightly maintenance being done is now near-instant. The increased RAM might have helped too, ca...

Re: Asus 240hz native new screen

Wait a second. What monitor is this? How are you getting firmwares? I can't even get Benq to release a firmware to enable single strobing on their XL2735 or XL2540....so how are you getting firmwares? zisworks is a monitor motherboard replacement -- at least that's what I understand it. Firmwares a...

When i got my Zisworks monitor i could overclock the VT to 2200~ and Zis said he wasn't able to get his above 1400 and that's why he never FreeSync a shot. He later game me a updated firmware for strobing to work. How fast i...

Re: Happy new year BlurBusters

My new year's resolution is actually a new year's refresh rate. I'd like to see a true 240Hz monitor come on the market this year, preferably one adoptiing one of the VRR standards (G-SYNC or FreeSync) My new year's resolution has been met -- almost 2 years later. There are now a few 240Hz monitors!

Re: LG ProBeam: 1080p laser projector at 2000 lumen

There is no chance of low-persistence / BFI on projectors (unless you can do 120hz and BFI manually) It's already being done in an undocumented way on cheap DLPs The fact is that other DLP's do it already.... My question is simply for LG ProBeam: Can it do 1080p 120Hz? Yes, brightness goes down, bu...

Re: Looking for 1440p Advice (blur sensitive)

Motion blur headaches are nothing new -- there is a small section of population that is blur-sensitive (but not flicker-sensitive). Occasionally, some people are prone to motion blur headaches ( source , source ) and forum members regularly come here to gain the comfort of busting motion blur (our n...

(Acer GN246HL)

It's possible the monitor is failing. Try testing 100Hz LightBoost and see if the problem is on that too.

Re: G-Sync 101 w/Chart (WIP)

Yes, the multicore setting might be causing the RTSS issue. You could do the test yourself -- enable/disable multicore while trying RTSS. I It would not be the first time.... There are anecdotes of framerate limiters having weird lag quirks with certain games with certain configurations. Ask him if ...

Re: Asus 240hz native new screen

Chief, The Samsung monitors avoid any crosstalk at all at 144hz by strobing the backlight in 4 "quadrants" instead of at once. I wonder if the Asus is doing something similar? I just don't want to buy a monitor to test it :( The Samsung panels are suffering from pixels going bad, color purple shift...
