Re: Wooting One keyboard tested against Logitech G Pro Keybo

I just realized they referenced Sunjun Kim's article "Impact Activation Improves Rapid Button Pressing", which claims that putting the actuation point at the bottom of the key travel will improve accuracy. That article is not trustworthy: its methodology has a major flaw (participants are blind to k...

Re: Interesting project about mouse/ gamepad latency

comment: i think the humanbenchmark test works by turning green at a random time, but this random time is selected between 2s and 5s which means that anyone who's done this test enough times, will (consciously or subconsciously or both) anticipate more and more if the color stays red for longer. Fo...

Re: Wooting One keyboard tested against Logitech G Pro Keybo

That's part of why I decided to test the Wooting, and the other part was Sunjun Kim's measurements. But Wooting One's manufacturer doesn't make any end-to-end latency claims. Other manufacturers, like Bloody, tend to report (misleadingly) only their very best subsystem with meaningless numbers like ...

spacediver and ad8e public collaboration [reaction research]

I decided that for useful stuff that everyone would learn from, I'll post it publically rather than in our PMs. Here's a specific description of the model method. The model says, "as long as the mouse continues to move downward, I predict the next movement point will be within a 99.99% confidence in...

Re: Wooting One keyboard

When typing on the Wooting One, maybe its 9 - 20 ms advantage over the Logitech G Pro is fair. It is enormously faster because of the lower actuation force and the non-binding wobble, rather than the electronics. The Logitech G Pro's claimed 45 g force is randomly a 45 - 100 g force depending on whe...

Re: Interesting project about mouse/ gamepad latency

been a while since last posting here... spacediver alerted me to this discussion 1. my old 148ms is not fake and not cheating. it did not have an outlier that was less than 140ms; i wouldn't report the average if i just got lucky... Thanks flood, appreciate the input. If flood's number was 148 ms, ...

Wooting One keyboard tested against Logitech G Pro Keyboard

[EDIT: see https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5540&p=42961#p42961 for further results. The Wooting One's electronics are less performant than initially measured, so it no longer deserves the glowing recommendation in the bottom of this post. It is still a decent keyboard.] I bump te...

Re: Interesting project about mouse/ gamepad latency

I don't care about that reaction time stuff, so I won't be doing work for it, although others can. Right now, the project is blocking on spacediver's code. He is busy and any of the projects he wants to try will require significant work, so I don't foresee progress in the near future. That means I w...

Re: Interesting project about mouse/ gamepad latency

I have a g502 mouse, 12 000 dpi is the max. But I think I read somewhere that there is smoothing on high dpi. By the way, Rocket jump ninja posted this : https://twitter.com/RocketJumpNinja/status/1148581836433448966 (Maybe he is watching the post :D ). 147 ms on 25 tries, this is pretty damn good....

Re: Interesting project about mouse/ gamepad latency

If we assume Overwatch physics and the Quake AABB collision box, then the aimer doesn't need to know the dodger's velocity, only his history of positions (which does determine velocity, but let's ignore that). The aimer pretends that his opponent only uses A and D, so it's important to detect the mo...
