Re: Ideas of new TestUFO tests -- SUGGESTIONS HERE
May I suggest a test pattern which can be used to measure motion resolution. For example there is this test pattern from Chapter 31 of FPD Benchmark Blu-Ray https://i.lensdump.com/i/AYkJgD.jpg The pattern scrolls horizontally and wherever you can see interline contrast up to in the converging lines,...

Re: G-Sync 101 w/Chart (WIP)
Understood, thanks.
I am still interested to know whether in-game vsync vs NVCP vsync is affecting the input lag. I don't know if it's a placebo but I seem to feel the input lag is lesser with the in-game vsync instead.

Re: G-Sync 101 w/Chart (WIP)
@RealNC, The Witcher 3 has an asset streaming system that is prone to creating frequent frametime spikes (at least on initial load) I hope you are running it off SSD because I have noticed the same thing on Witcher 2 SSD vs HDD, where the former is free of frame spikes on asset loading, or, the lat...

Re: G-Sync 101 w/Chart (WIP)
RTSS Update (01/24/2017): A recent video by Battle(non)sense (https://youtu.be/rs0PYCpBJjc?t=2m32s) has posed the possibility that RTSS is adding 1 frame of input latency with G-Sync. I'm currently investigating the cause of this discrepancy, and will update here when I learn more. RTSS Update (03/...

Re: G-Sync 101 w/Chart (WIP)
Just wanted to add that for lowest input lag we must also set max prerendered frames to 1 in NVCP, and also in the game if it has the option. Maybe this has something to do with why people have reported input lag when using gsync+vsync? Another thing to mention is the Windows "bcdedit /set useplatfo...

Re: Why can't monitors receive 120hz over HDMI?
What monitor is this, that can handle 1920x1080@120hz over HDMI on a PC? Yep, on my R9270 I ran 3 of them in eyefinity at 1080p120hz , 2 via DVI and the center monitor via HDMI. Which itself is a small miracle seeing as though the R9270 has to share a clock between 2 of the monitors :) As I said I ...

Re: Black frame insertion software for non-ULMB monitors
I wonder if it's possible to simulate different durations of BFI using dithering. For example if we wanted to increase the black frame duration to something a bit longer than 50%, the active frame could have a spatially randomised dithered black field pattern overlayed on top. The longer the duratio...

Re: Why can't monitors receive 120hz over HDMI?
It's 100% working with hdmi 1.4a on my R9 270. It's even listed in the monitor's manual.
I also was able to overclock it to 144hz using CRU, but would get occasional picture dropouts.

Re: Black frame insertion software for non-ULMB monitors
DXtory is another one that can overlay its FPS meter on to the windows desktop as well as full screen and windowed applications. If an FPS meter can be overlayed, then surely an entire raster of black pixels can be too. I anticipate a problem will be ensuring the black frames are properly synchronis...
