Pre-rendered Frames Testing?
I have been looking for some actually hard tests of pre-rendered frames settings. The best I could find was for Overwatch where they tested Default vs 1 and the results came back negligible, where 1 beat default by less then 1ms on average. Interesting note, they found the Overwatch's built in "Redu...

Buying a new graphics card and monitor soon
I am looking to upgrade my aging GTX 970 soon and also upgrade to a adaptive sync monitor. I am looking to wait until FreeSync 2, GSync HDR monitors are available around what I am looking for (1080p, 144-240hz) and really compare my options. Price to feature wise it looks like AMD will be trashing N...

Re: FastSync RTSS vs In Game FPS Limit?
This is normal. The CPU load is fake, because it's just RTSS blocking the game, doing nothing, in order to achieve very accurate timing for the frame limiter. Using timers (like in-game limiters do) is not very accurate. Blocking and waiting in a do-nothing infinite loop is very accurate. This kind...

Re: FastSync RTSS vs In Game FPS Limit?
I assume you're following the low-latency vsync guide where you cap your FPS to 0.01FPS below refresh rate? Yes I am, I think I am getting a lot of extra cpu load using that method though, as I am seeing near max cpu usage now. Which made me curious about in-game limiting and what it would look lik...

FastSync RTSS vs In Game FPS Limit?
I have a ASUS VG248QE that I am using Lightboost on. Right now I am running FastSync with a RTSS frame limit set to just a smidgen less then the measured refresh rate of my monitor. Would it be better to use a in game frame limiter? The game I am playing the most right now doesn't seem to have a ver...

Do we know if this is in the works?Chief Blur Buster wrote:Ideally we need a future RTSS that dynamically changes the cap automatically to prevent framebuffer backpressure.

Re: Vsync vs FPS Cap or Both?
Do you know the rough input lag difference between Lightboost+FastSync+RTTS FPS Cap vs Lightboost+VSync+RTTS FPS Cap?RealNC wrote:If it works for you, then it's fine. You get more microstutter with fastsync, but if it doesn't bother you, then who cares.

Re: Vsync vs FPS Cap or Both?
I just wanted to mention, I have been doing a lot of research on this site and I wanted to thank you guys for all the time and effort put in it. There is such a wealth of tweaking information here. I did end up setting up Lightboost+Fast Sync+RTTS fps limit, and I am getting a very smooth experience...

Re: Vsync vs FPS Cap or Both?
I was reading the low lag vsync article and that turned me on to fast sync. But I found it interesting that fast sync typically recommends a frame rate 2-5x the refresh rate, but the low lag way says to almost sync the refresh and fps, which from what I have read would get you higher input lag.

Vsync vs FPS Cap or Both?
I am running a 144hz monitor at 120hz with LightBoost, there is no Gsync or FreeSync capability in this monitor. I am looking to get optimal FPS response time\input lag a long with my blur reduction. Right now I am not using vSync or a FPS cap, should I be using one or both? If I should be limiting ...
