Re: LG 27" 1440p 240hz OLED Ultragear 27GR95QE

$1000 is a really rough price point for something that will undoubtedly get burn-in within 3-6mos of you using it the way it's intended (on competitive FPS) - thanks to static UI elements. It's almost a consumable item. Unless you *exclusively* use it for competitive FPS, and do nothing else with it...

LG 27" 1440p 240hz OLED Ultragear 27GR95QE

https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27gr95qe-b https://i.imgur.com/pvM0urQ.png $1000, claims 0.03ms response time It would be interesting to see the response time and motion clarity of this against the newly released 360hz TN monitors (eg. BenQ XL2566K) or the 500hz ones coming next year Reddit seems ...

Re: ZOWIE XL2566K Discussion Thread [24.5" 360hz TN]

He hardly makes a direct comparison to the acer 390hz which tells me his review is probably paid by zowie. Acer's 390hz is a 360hz IPS (he compared to a few of those - ones that use the same panel) I can promise you it doesn't beat this panel's response time. And I would eat my hat if it has BFI be...

Re: NEW Benq Zowie Monitors Speculation/Info Thread (XL2546K-B, XL2546K, XL2411K)

I'm very curious, but honestly waiting for the Asus 500Hz would be a more substantial upgrade, especially for those coming from 240Hz. what I like about the Zowie 240hz is the Dyac and how u can tune the colors and brightness. Compared it with the 390 hz Acer and Zowie won. Few weeks ago I read tha...

Re: VESA wants to replace monitor response time specs with ‘ClearMR’ stamps

Completely omitting BFI from the scoring is stupid and basically a matter of industry politics. It's supposed to be an objective, all-encompassing, integrated measure of image quality during motion. So why disallow one technique for improving motion clarity? Do A/B testing with and without BFI if yo...

Re: ASUS ROG Swift 500Hz Announced!

Whether or not I buy this monitor comes down to two things: 1) Will it feature ULMB / strobing / BFI at 500hz? The ROG Swift 500hz features high brightness (advertised as 400 nits.) There is no excuse for it to not have strobing. Yet I don't see any mention of its inclusion. This makes me believe As...

Why is capped refresh rate a thing in windows again?
And why would it be capped to 512hz specifically?
The Windows display compositor has trouble with highly dissimilar refresh rates (ie 500hz monitor + 60hz secondary monitor). It might be related to that.

Re: NEW Benq Zowie Monitors Speculation/Info Thread (XL2546K-B, XL2546K, XL2411K)

I hope the 360hz TN SKU won't delay or prevent a 500/540hz TN SKU. BenQ made a big show of skipping 360hz IPS panels because they weren't the best for esports, but after all this time they have announced they'll be using an inferior panel to what's available. If they're skipping 500hz panels I will ...
