Re: [Strobe Crosstalk] 120hz ulmb vs 144hz vs 240hz. Is there a big difference?

If I want to use a 240hz monitor to strobe at 120hz, do I need to create a custom resolution to benefit from the refresh headroom? (or is it at all beneficial to do so?) For 240Hz ULMB and 240Hz PureXP+, not needed. Those are already doing it automatically and internally. Some strobed displays, inc...

Re: [Strobe Crosstalk] 120hz ulmb vs 144hz vs 240hz. Is there a big difference?

So, that's why refresh rate headroom is wonderful for reducing strobe crosstalk. You can max the scanout velocity at the max Hz (e.g. 1/240sec for 240Hz monitors) despite running at a lower refresh rate such as 100Hz. This can either be done at the signal level (Quick Frame Transport / Large Vertic...

Re: Any way to reduce brightness past 0?

This has been a consternation with some of readers. There are multiple methods to go below 0 1. Buy a neutral density filter from Amazon or eBay and put it on your monitor. Here's an example of an ND sheet big enough to cover a 24" gaming monitor to reduce brightness by approximately 0.3 F-stop. Th...

Would help if you told us what monitor you have.
I have the Acer Nitro XF252QX, I should note that I have this problem on one of my other monitors as well and that's a VA panel.

How noticeable is one dead pixel? Worth 100 euro / 25% price reduction?

There is a good store online here that sells the exact monitor ive been looking for for 3000 euro instead of 400. The issue with it is that's it contains one dead pixel at the lower part of the screen in the middle. As I've never seen a dead pixel in real life, I wonder how noticeable they are? For ...

Experiences regarding ghosting VG27BQ

The marketing seems promising at 0.4ms GtG but ofcourse, marketing doesn't have to tell the truth. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with this monitor and could comment on it's performance regarding ghosting?

Buy monitor in near future or wait?

I've been eyeing a new monitor for quite some time as I'm not satisfied with the ghosting on my C24G1. I'm starting to wonder if I should buy right now though due to the corona-virus and am worried that availability and prices might rise in the near, foreseeable future. Any thoughts?

Asus TUF VG27BQ vs Acer Nitro XF252QX

I've owned all three types of monitors in the past and have come to the conclusion that I actually want a TN panel. I'll still have both an IPS and VA monitor as secondaries. As I want to purchase in my country, there is pretty much 2 monitors I've narrowed it down to: - Acer Nitro XF252QX - Asus TU...
