Re: Low refresh rate Single Strobing (60hz+) interest
Lg 24gm79g here. Blur reduction (g's strobing mode) totally works on 60hz. I am not sure how to describe the effect. It obviously lowers contrast and so on but the game feels a bit smoother? I don't see any flickering but it is visible with a camera. It definitely have a lot of crosstalk but if some...

Re: Does enabling freesync on nvidia can have any effect?
oh so it's a dynamic contrast thingy. I never use those because it's always a shitty solution. Thanbkfully the contrast on this LG is great and really black when set properly. Washes out a bit at 144hz but 120hz is good middle ground. Anyway - I've tried enabling DFC anyway and found it makes NO eff...

Does enabling freesync on nvidia can have any effect?
Hey! I've just got LG 24GM79G few day ago and noticed that the option to switch freesync is not greyed out om my gtx 1060. When I switch it on, the screen switches off and on. Nvidia control panel recognizes that as another monitor and sets colors back to limited. So even though freesync is obviousl...

Re: Real time ray tracing! (better graphics)
I never understood what ray tracing is and how it is different from normal 3d polygon based rendering ?
With ray tracing the only difference I see is that it's crazy demanding and that everything is shiny. Every single object in those demos always is a mirror and has a million polygons

LG 24GM79G impressions
I've already said this in other thread but I wanted to make a separate topic for this monitor for visibility: I have the screen for 2 days now. The build quality is fantastic and so are the looks imo. The screen is very nice with no visible coating grain on light colors and stand practical. There ar...

Great! Please follow up to let us know your impressions. Now - this is quick but actually they had it right near where I live and I can give impressions after about 2 hours of usage/tweaking. IT IS A VERY WEIRD screen and I have very mixed feelings but good overall. The build quality is fantastic a...

Re: Looking for 1080p monitor... no luck so far (AG251FG pic
Hey!
Is LG 24GM79G-B a good buy? I will plan to run it at 120 most of times for improved 60fps compatibility (maybe even with 120hz strobing)
Oh whatever, I've ordered the thing. Best be done with it

Re: is this dead pixel ?
One thing to maybe try (but it can be dangerous so I do not advise!) would be to take a suction cup and try gently pulling on this place so maybe the dust would fall down. I once replaced send one of Iiyama screens under warranty because there was a freaking bug walking inside. And they sent me back...

Re: Looking for the best 1080p monitor for gaming?
If you have an nvidia GPU, it's kind of sad to get 240Hz without gsync. It's really, really good guys. It's like having a 7.1 surround setup and then buying a BluRay player with only stereo output. That's true. Sadly all 1080p gsync montiors are 240hz and what comes with that is some blb troubles a...
