Re: Why lower resolutions are more smoother in gaming?
Higher resolutions require more processing in the GPU, but not really any more processing in the CPU. When you're GPU limited, you get some buffering while waiting for the GPU to finish the previous frame, that one major source of lag, in addition to the extra time the GPU spends processing the frame.

Re: How much do ram timings affect input lag?
Schizo, lets say your RAM is magically running at the same latency and bandwidth as your L3 cache, and in this particular game, framerate stays the same. What specific benefits do you expect to see, from having the faster RAM? I much rather operate in real world limited by physics(including time an...

Whenever you or anyone else is ready to sponsor equipment I will prove all of my "schizo" placebo facts to be true. It is not difficult to build your own end to end latency test device: https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?p=22634#p22634 RAM latency can increase overall latency, but not inv...

Re: How much do ram timings affect input lag?
Any latency from main memory reads and writes directly impacts how fast the main loop of the game engine runs. So if your CPU is the bottleneck, it shows up as a decrease in framerate. If your bottleneck is the GPU, it doesn't show up at all. The only way it could show up without impacting framerate...

Re: How much do ram timings affect input lag?
only so far as it has an impact on framerate. So, negligible.

Re: Scaling mode, which one? [Preserve Aspect Ratio, Full Panel or Center]
There isn't any scaling unless you're changing one resolution into another.

why aren't you rendering at the native resolution?

Re: Is the following test method for input lag valid?
The problem with this method is that it's a human pressing the button. You need something more repeatable, like an object falling from a consistent height.
