Re: Blur reduction possible on any monitor via software ?
Even in the 60hz video you can see 3 frames in a single exposure. Yep. This is often a problem for panels with overdrive that is not strobe-quality. Just taking a static photograph (not video) with an exposure of a tiny fraction of a refresh cycle (e.g. 1/500sec photograph), and if you see multiple...

Re: Blur reduction possible on any monitor via software ?
I "void" the video as being uninterpretable due to camera sensor behavior: It's just not possible to correctly interpret a strobe backlight via only 120fps high speed video. Think of it this way. If your strobe length is 2ms, you need 500fps to capture all 2ms timeslices with only 4ms fuzz margin (a...

Re: Is this a dead pixel?
It doesn't look like a dead pixel, but dust.
Like dust behind the screen panel glass, in front of the edgelight diffuser.
Try a gentle tap, but sometimes these are impossible to remove.
Depending on how bad it is, it can be a warranty claim.

Re: Alienware AW2518HF 240Hz Settings
Or overdrive.
Probably what he meant, some manufacturers confusingly label overdrive adjustments with the word "response".
Overdrive higher (faster) indeed gives lower (time-wise) response......to a certain point, then it starts to overshoot, and produce corona artifacts.

Re: XL2546 - Refining Settings
However, I still get cross-talk / ghosting. Make the Large Vertical Total even larger. This widens the middle clarity band and thins the top/bottom crosstalky bands. Unfortunately, if you're already at the maximum supported vertical total for your refresh rate -- you need to reduce refresh rate, to...

Instead of using long VBI will sleeping before the strobe flash work ? By asking this question, it indicates you may not fully grasp the "law-of-physics" problem. So I'll attempt to explain diagrammatically soon. First, view this high speed video of http://www.testufo.com/flicker: https://www.youtu...

Re: Pg258q vs Xl2546 vs Pg278qr
Cons: some people reported some very visible pixel inversion (horizontal lines) and in measurements it seems that it has more input lag + slower pixel response than both pg248q and pg278qr All the "more input lag" reports are all at 60Hz. However, most of us don't use 60Hz. While future 240Hz may h...

Re: pg258q 240Hz video playback microstutter problem
Stutters only in web videos (netflix and youtube). In Home Media Player everything looks ok. Ive just tested Netflix app for PC on windows store which has an option for offline watching. I downloaded movie and still very choppy. Movies even lose synchronisation between picture and sound. Overall it...

Re: What should the test look like?
Is those microstuttering... I dont care too much about the tearing, but the microstuttering hurts my eye. Your prescription is variable refresh rate. Either FreeSync or G-SYNC . FreeSync is cheaper and much more common, while G-SYNC often has a premium that also pays for other non-G-GSYNC things to...
