Re: UFO motion test not reading 120hz
I'm using a multimonitor setup and it used to go to 120hz in Chrome but now it only goes up to 60hz. It only works in Firefox for me now. I'm not sure if there was an update to the blink rendering engine that broke it or what the deal is.

Re: Best way to test display lag?
I think it would be most effective to use a microcontroller to simulate a mouse, and illuminate a LED at the same time it gives the computer a movement input. Could work, but admittedly far harder than hardwiring a LED physically to the mouse button. There are already tools that measures mouse move...

Re: Best way to test display lag?
hate to crush dreams :) but numlock and such are actually commanded by your main processor, this was already the case on a 8086! I was shocked too when I learnt that a long time ago! So there would be some uncertainity about the time of the roundtrip, potentially not negligible. If the keyboard has...

Re: DIY Backlight Strobing [must read for experimenters!]
Just realized that randomized or algorithmic pattern order of the update of pixels in one frame (for multiplexed oled for example, crt is not doable and lcd-tft do not blink individually) (also suggested by Carmack if I remember) would unfortunately be very bad for this reason : it would randomly d...

Re: Need 1000fps@1000Hz for 1ms persistence without strobing
There's still something I don't fully understand in regards to strobing and persistence. These methods are intended to make persistent displays behave like CRTs. Why is FPS important? Back in the CRT days, games had the same problems we have today; they often would fall below the vertical frequency...

Re: EXCLUSIVE: We measure G-SYNC Input Lag in GSYNC Preview
Are there any other game engines capable of similar framerate limiting as the Source engine that could also be tested? A lot of games have the ability to set a frame rate limit. I was messing around with Planetside 2 today and you can set MaximumFPS in the UserOptions.ini file. I set it to 120 but ...

Re: Best way to test display lag?
I'm thinking about getting the Casio Exilim EX-ZR200 since it is only $150 and can do 1000 fps. Do you think that would be sufficient for doing an input lag test like what you did using an LED? Yep. That's the camera I used for GSYNC Preview #2. It was $250, but the price has fallen. Blur Busters i...

That input lag testing method is awesome.
btw you can use the left and right arrow keys in media player classic to step individual frames if you don't want to use quicktime.
