Well since the reset it's rarely flickered. Maybe a couple of times. Hmmph. I wonder if I needed to do it between GPU changes?

It surely is cable/port related in a way or another, if I was you I'd RMA your monitor since you also stated that you got the same issue when using a different cable. Pre-Emphasis...
