Re: Monitor OSD odd behaviour

Thanks, any comment on my second question? With VRR, the duration of each scanout cycle is determined by the current max refresh rate (8.3ms at 120Hz), while VRR itself controls how many times that scanout process repeats per second based on the current framerate. I.E. 117 FPS 120Hz VRR = scanout c...

Re: Monitor OSD odd behaviour

1. Is this behaviour expected/normal? Yes, it's "normal." Those monitor-side refresh rate meters, especially on G-SYNC Compatible FreeSync displays, can't be relied on for accuracy; as long as said meters are fluctuating (meaning VRR is engaged), you should rely on system-side readouts for monitori...

I said "lowest possible latency," not "highest possible consistency." And you don't have to use Reflex to prevent max GPU usage, you can use a manual FPS limit instead.

Wanted to inform this is no longer the case, though haven't yet tested myself.
"Adds support for NVIDIA Ultra Low Latency Mode with DirectX 12 titles"
Per Nvidia driver update 551.23.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll take a look.

Re: NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency - How It Works & Why You Want To Use It

If understood correctly it should be VRR. Right now I am using G-SYNC plus Reflex if available (otherwise capping 3 FPS under refresh rate in game). V-SYNC is off in game and on in NVCP. I am thinking about turning V-SYNC off in NVCP when using very high FPS games. Okay, not sure what else to add b...

Re: Micro stutters in old games vs. overkill PC

While I agree, an overkill CPU should be able to brute force the game to run perfectly (we're talking about what...like x30 times faster hardware?) And yet here we are. I was considering switching to 7800x3d or looking for somebody to test this area on that CPU (recently I found out that it also dr...

Re: NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency - How It Works & Why You Want To Use It

I am trying to accomplish to minimize input lag and not having tearing. I can see that you did the test with 60 Hz and having quite significant improvements when not capping your FPS. But what when doing it with a higher refresh rate of e.g. 144 Hz? I think the improvements in terms of latency betw...

Re: Micro stutters in old games vs. overkill PC

Although it is not optimized well for the time of release, it is a very easy-to-run game nowadays based on the Unreal Engine, which I do not remember having any stutters whatsoever even on a weakass hardware. UE3 is and was infamous for asset streaming stutter, especially in open-world games. I.E. ...
