Ping commands use ICMP (protocol, games use UDP, TCP)
Nodes between the target and the parent - may not respond to requests. In general, this is a very dubious way to diagnose an Internet connection.

There is an idea that ancient iron works better without any corrections Meltdown and Spectre. In the new processors everything is built-in (these patches) and you cannot turn them off ..
