Re: Benq XL2430T Settings

Hi All, I have owned the XL2430 for about 3 weeks now and was initially frustrated like a lot of people in this thread. What I noticed is that there are so many options and variations for settings which is great for allowing the user to tweak the monitor to their liking while at the same time can be...

Re: Please help - Best 144hz gaming monitor

XL2420G Also uses a very old Gsync module firmware, which is not capable of doing ULMB+Gsync simultaneously. Most of the NEWER Gsync 144hz+ monitors can do ULMB and Gsync at the same time successfully. Keep this in mind because that is truly a BLUR BUSTING experience. Ok so an update... The 2430 ov...

Re: Please help - Best 144hz gaming monitor

If you don't mind poorer colors than IPS, then yes... the BENQ XL2420G is indeed quite excellent all-around if you want maximum flexiblity of many modes. -- You want the option of ultra-low-lag (fully eSports competitive gaming ready! BENQ is a well known sponsor) -- You want the option of GSYNC --...

It's a ViewSonic XG2703-GS. But I didn't suggest that monitor because the $450 suggestions I made in this thread are already past your initial budget of $300.

Do you know anything about the BenQ XL2420G? This appears to have everything (g-sync, etc...).

That's a nice one. Ok thanks for the info, I'm going to research the ones that you suggested.

Re: Please help - Best 144hz gaming monitor

LED is the backlight, not the panel. All of these monitors (and generally all monitors made in the last 5 years or so) use a LED backlight regardless of what kind of panel they have. When it comes to panels, there's different types (TN, IPS, VA, and variations thereof.) TN used to be the choice of ...

Re: Please help - Best 144hz gaming monitor

There's also the AOC G2460PG. Normally with AOC monitors the major issue is their very bad overdrive. However, with G-Sync it's NVidia that does the overdrive implementation (it's handled by the G-Sync module,) so for this monitor it might actually be not too bad. There's the Dell S2417DG. 1440p th...

Re: Buying 144hz monitor

After you explained, Im leaning towards the benq, samsung seems to be too much for my budget. Is there any other reason besides display port to pick xl2430 over xl2411? Hey Hardhit, did you make a decision yet? I don't want to sway you one way or another but I just posted my monitor search status i...

Re: Please help - Best 144hz gaming monitor

If you don't want G-Sync, then it seems the LG 24GM77 has good reviews. It does use a double-strobe technique though when you enable motion blur reduction Strobe crosstalk (double image effects) during their blur reduction mode isn't too good, though -- LightBoost/ULMB/BENQ is better with much clea...

Re: Please help - Best 144hz gaming monitor

Btw, there's also the Dell S2417DG. However, that's a 1440p monitor. But it seems to have better image quality than the Asus. It apparently uses an 8-bit panel with very good color reproduction. So it seems it's offering higher resolution and better image quality at the same price. But even though ...
