Re: Benq xl2430T

Hmm chief really needs to review one of these. If you didn't notice the band (you can see it on the blur busters screenshots on the main page and in the older threads on the Benq section, discussing V1 and V2 firmware--which is how the VT tweaks got into discussion), then maybe Benq did some things ...

Re: Is there V3 firmware now? [XL2420Z]

Change that strobe phase down to 000. IF you enable blur reduction at that 100 setting, the screen will turn black, because the phase overflows and actually changes the persistence (side effect) and actually turns off the backlight. For some reason, when the monitors are upgraded, the firmware defau...

Re: Unacceptable Over-Saturation, Stutter & Ghosting on XL27

You're using 60 hz strobing; did you turn on SINGLE STROBE in the monitor options? You can do that from the utility through windows; just enabling the checkmark will automatically turn on single strobe. However, in the service menu, you can adjust the strobe phase and persistence while keeping singl...

Re: Benq xl2430T

I guess the test was to use testUFO/alien invasion (moving pictures) test and check for ghosting/corona/inverse ghosting artifacts. Did you notice if the 2430T had fewer (ghosting) artifacts than the 2420Z? Did the 2430T need the VT 1500 or VT 1350 vertical total tweaks to lower the size of the thic...

Re: BENQ XL2420Z Options Greyed-Out.

Hue and saturation can only be used in VGA (dsub) mode, but it might work under HDMI, although not sure. I know HDMI unlocks the color formats at least and another option that isn't usually available. Some options are only available in FPS mode (like black equalizer). Gamma is available in standard ...

Re: BenQ XL2430T Problems

That's a browser problem. TestUFO won't run at 120hz or 144 hz on internet explorer but it will on chrome and some versions of firefox.
Try using the test screen at 100hz refresh rate. Restart the browser before running the test.
Also try some fullscreen games.

Re: BenQ XL2430T Problems

Are you using 60 hz? 60 hz does double strobe, so you will see similar but slightly improved blurring, than with blur reduction off. Try 144 hz or 120 hz. you should NOT see ANY blurring at all. You may see artifacts/inverse ghosting but that's NOT blurring. You should be able to turn on single stro...

Re: Performance Decrease with PG278Q

Someone mentioned on OCN that it may have something to do with "NVidia scaling" not being able to be disabled. Even if you disable scaling, the NVidia scaler is still in use. Only in very old drivers did you have the ability to use NO scaling at all. Not sure if that is related (having Nvidia scalin...

Re: Acer S271HL software-only strobed backlight

This is AWESOME work.

But the million dollar question:
Can this be done on a Benq Z series?

Even just tweaking the overdrive parameters to remove all of that freaking ghosting....I think masterotaku would LOVE something like this.

Anyone want to send this guy a Z Benq? :)

Re: XL2720Z PS4 Destiny

Ah, well whenever you use blur reduction at 50 or 60 hz, it's going to flicker like a madman. I believe CRT's could get away with this by using "interlaced" mode (only having half the scanlines) but I'm just saying random stuff. If you unclick 'allow customization", then 50 hz and 60 hz will "double...
