Re: vsynch locks my fps at 119 instead of 120 fps
If there's no frame skipping (one small micro-stutter every one second) then it's fine. The actual refresh rate might be something like 119.99Hz or so. If you're paranoid, you can always modify the mode using CRU.

Re: Overwatch + G-Sync input lag?
Try the RTSS frame rate limiter. (It comes with MSI Afterburner.)

Re: NVIDIA Fast Sync
This is not CS:GO specific. Every game feels more fun when the mouse feels less like a boat when you look around. At 128+fps no game's input feels like a boat. I personally cap at 128fps (without VSync) and it is plenty. I'm referring to vsync on here. With vsync off, there's never any input lag fo...

Re: NVIDIA Fast Sync
there is no way fast sync is possible without motion judder from variable framerate, i see that they try to cap it at multiples of the refresh-rate like 60-120-180, but refreshrate of the monitor is not always 60hz, but sometimes 59.9 and sometimes 60.1, so there is no way to get exactly multiples ...

Re: NVIDIA Fast Sync
Capping framerate just below refresh rate with VSync already gives you tearing-free low-latency gameplay. But it stutters. And that's annoying. Now obviously "FastSync" is aimed at getting high framerates, but it's not like CS:GO engine-wise benefits significantly from framerates above tickrate. Th...

Tearing. Fast sync is there to lower input lag while still having vsync.Maximus_Fleximus wrote:What's the difference between Fast Sync, and simply capping your framerate in the game's console ??

Re: NVIDIA Fast Sync
If you can do that, why not just keep a framerate at exactly the refresh rate? That's just normal vsync, with huge input lag. Ultimately, you need a refresh rate synchronous framerate cap to get v-sync without latency, stutter or VRR, and that's what I was hoping for when all we had to go on was ru...

Re: NVIDIA Fast Sync
OK, now you made me wanna go to ebay and buy all the retro stuff I don't have anymore just to test this... Must resist the urge... If they can get rid of the timing issues and thus eliminate micro-stutter, fast sync will be an incredibly useful option. There is really no reason why there would...

Re: NVIDIA Fast Sync
I'm not aware of an implementation of triple buffering which drops frames while still being called triple buffering. Do you have documentation of either the 3dfx or old opengl one? Here's an Anandtech article about: http://www.anandtech.com/show/2794 Which is the one that everyone cites as a source...
