Re: 60hz recommendation

Motion blur and flicker cause me major problems as well. I have a CRT that I can use just for a little bit before it's too much. I find it crazy how we used to stare at the things for most of our lives with no issues. I had used a tube TV for 30 years with no issues now no such luck. https://www.ama...

Re: Can anyone help to send a suggestion to Rtings?

But they really need to add " MIN luminance " to their desktop monitors scores. We agree. Some of us gets headaches even at 100 nits, and need to lower brightness to less than 50 nits. Wider brightness range in a gaming monitor needs to be made available. Just because 1000nit HDR becomes available,...

Re: Can anyone help to send a suggestion to Rtings?

Sorry this maybe a little off topic here,,, Rtings makes exlellent reviews. But they really need to add "MIN luminance" to their desktop monitors scores. This is extremely important for office use. Actually, as a desktop monitor, office use should always be a very big considration for design. "Gami...

Re: Dear ViewSonic: Please Add 60 Hz Single-Strobe for PureXP on XG270

To Viewsonic: You are making an excellent monitor that is stealing the thunder from Asus and Benq's offerings, however one thing I feel you guys should implement is a 60hz blur reduction single strobe (one strobe per 16.7ms interval) at 60hz refresh rates. 60hz is an important setting because many ...

Re: Digital Foundry - CRT better then 4K OLED

FINALLY the same concept is seen on a modern screen but (I think it is patented by samsung) and only used in their VR headset the odyssey plus. Nearly all LCD panels use vertical stripes of color filters much like an aperture grille, just much finer and pixel-aligned. But it is true most small OLED...

Re: Digital Foundry - CRT better then 4K OLED

It's probably too small an amount to register on the geiger. But because there is NO SAFE quantity of radiation, the dose and its effects are cumulative over a lifetime. All those years in front of CRT playing quake, it has increased the odds of us getting brain/ eye cancer. I'm the guy who o...

Re: what to pick for the best less eye strain monitor out th

Hello, I'm actually on a 60hz monitor (Asus VX238H, flicker-free with a blue light filter used on win ) and to describe it it's an eye strain fest both for me (an extensive pc user) and my little brother (who isn't quite much like me, play and use the pc casually ) specificaly while playing fps gam...

Re: Digital Foundry - CRT better then 4K OLED

https://www.vice.com/en_ca/article/kz4gqm/why-this-20-year-old-crt-monitor-is-better-than-a-4k-lcd It looks like Vice picked up on the Digital Foundry video about CRT monitors. So cool to see these in the mainstream. It would be even cooler if someone started a small factory and started making them ...

Re: 120Hz monitor feels more like 60Hz.

I find this so fascinating. I have been playing this game from 1990 call Sword Of Vermillion. The first way I started playing it was FPGA with my LG Ultra Gear monitor. It's kind of an odd game when you are in the town it's top down and a traditional JRPG but when you are outside the town it's first...
