Hey, this is my first time posting here and im facing major problems with my new samsung monitor. I'm a competitive fortnite player, and do play other fps games too. SO whats happening is that there is noticeable difference between this monitor and my last 165 hz samsung one, gameplay is way smoother u can feel it, but im facing problems with input lag.
Ok so first when i got the monitor builds looked weird compared to usual , i thought it was the colors changed a bit in them and got used to it eventually, but there is input lag , builds dont place sometimes , edits arent that fast, i cant find the problem.
Trust me i tried everything changed ports , updates, and to make sure its not my pc , I went back to my 165 hz samsung monitor which felt less smooth compared to this one but way better latency and input lag , idk...
I also pplayed around with the monitor settings tried everything from ffaster to extreme mode, turned on and off the low input lag mode, adaptive sync is off for sure and nothing seems to works.
Is like g sync enabled or something? thats why games looks a bit weird and has delay? In My nvidia control panel vsync is turned off as well as in fortnite.
after looking around i opened cru and noticed way different settings than usual monitors i get, idk if that has to do with any of it but yea, not the settings regarding the hz cause i know they change depending on the monitor but usually i have similar stuff that arent there with this monitor.
Idk what im saying im really lost, the delay is pissing me off, i hope any of u guys find a fix for me, and i did find on here and reddit people having same problems as me .
Edit: I can’t also use stretched res I got an invisible line at the middle of my screen that seperates the screens, it’s like I have two screen. Idk if that has to do with the latency problem whatsoever

Try with VRR enabled, quote from rtings
"The Samsung G4 has low input lag for a responsive feel, as long as you have VRR enabled. The results are with VRR enabled, which results in this low input lag, but it increases when sending a fixed signal that doesn't match the Refresh Rate setting in the on-screen display."

Isn't VRR, the freesync option on the monitor? If so yes I tried using it, like I said I tried everything, the picture looked better but the input delay didn't really get better unfortunately.greenenemy wrote: ↑05 Sep 2024, 14:57Try with VRR enabled, quote from rtings

Yes it is. Check if freesync is actually active and working, I'm not sure if you have to enable it in your graphics driver as well.
I just checked other samsung odyssey monitors on rtings and I don't know wtf are they doing.

Re: Samsung g4 240 hz Monitor input lag problem
I also have a Samsung g4 monitor, i just now discovered how absolutely terrible gsync is on this monitor, i don't know if its bad implementation or if that's always how gsync has been but, the second i turned it off and opened valorant it instantly felt like my mouse finally matched my mouse cursor on the monitor. If you have gsync turned on turn it off and vrr(variable refresh rate) its in setting but after i turned gsync off it disappeared. vrr is use to make lower fps look smoother which i why i think it was a bad call from the other person because that isn't an issue. and Cru is the reason why the line popped up on your screen when attempting stretched res. I would use dru and reinstall drivers. I've hit champ in fortnite and emerald in r6s. I hope this helps and you didn't need to buy a whole new monitor because of it.
Re: Samsung g4 240 hz Monitor input lag problem
I had the monitor for 1 year and upgraded to benq Zowie 360hz but besides the point the g4 Samsung odyssey is better to have input lag on and for the overdrive mode to standard for the lowest possible delay if u have it at fast or xtreme on Fortnite it’s boys going to feel like your placing any builds idk how to explain it and yes the g4 does not support stretch Rez with cru I tried it aswell and ended up with the invisible line in the middle .
