I'm playing CS2 at a competitive level (10K+ hours in-game). About a year ago, I upgraded my PC to Intel 14th Gen and DDR5 RAM. After the upgrade, I noticed that my mouse felt floaty and less responsive compared to before.
Moreover, I played LAN tournament using the exact same devices, mousepad, and settings, yet the mouse on LAN felt significantly more responsive.
During my year of using the Intel 14600KF, I discovered some ways to improve mouse responsiveness. However, the problem has always persisted. The only changes that helped me slightly were BIOS settings:
- Power Profile: Intel Baseline
- C-States: Disabled
- SpeedShift: Disabled
- E-Cores: Disabled
What also significantly improved my mouse responsiveness was uninstalling the Chipset Driver and disabling a few devices in Device Manager:
- Intel(R) LPC Controller / eSPI Controller
- Intel(R) LPSS: I2C Controller
- Intel(R) Management Engine Interface
- Intel(R) Shared SRAM
- Intel(R) SMBus
- Intel(R) SPI (Flash) Controller
I've read numerous threads and forum discussions, where many people report mouse responsiveness (input lag) issues with Intel 13th and 14th Gen CPUs. Some suggest the problem is related to voltage, specifically System Agent and VCCIO.
I have a fresh and optimized Windows 11 installation, and my system specs are:
Motherboard: ASRock Z790 PG Lightning
CPU: Intel 14600KF
GPU: AMD 5700XT
RAM: Kingston DDR5 2×16GB (5600MHz)
Does anyone know how to fix this issue or further improve mouse responsiveness?
