Anyone know if there is a way to force the viper to poll at a constant 8khz?
For me the polling rate fluctuates between 4 and 8khz. I don't really notice it but a polling variance of 4,000 hz isn't really acceptable either.

Just want to add to this, I originally returned my mouse and got a new one after I did the firmware update. I also had the weird vibrating cursor issue completely unrelated to mouse surfaces or cleanliness. Since the firmware only fixed plugging issues that I never had a problem with it wasn't worth installing. Stock firmware worked best for me.

8000hz still has a bunch of weird, random, and completely unexpected bugs in games. I mean that in the purest sense. It really seems random what 8khz screws up. Makes no sense sometimes and I don't even think the developers have any idea what's going on. It might even be some sort of windows or USB standard issues. Still not fixed over a year later.

I've seen this too on my Viper 8K..

You can't downgrade your mouse to older firmware, I don't think I'm willing to risk firmware updates if I can't go back, even if I really want to try it. The last firmware update introduced that issue and it took them over a year to fix it. So I'd either have to buy a new mouse if it gets screwed or deal with support that will tell me I don't have a problem.

Actually you can. Find the older firmware you want. Run the install sequence. When it says you have the latest already, disconnect your mouse, hold Left Click + Scroll Click + Right Click button and reconnect. From there you should be able to run the old firmware updater. I just did this a few days ago with mine. The trouble is finding an older firmware install. I have all 3 of them.

This is very good to know as long as you aren't trolling with that comment, hope it doesn't get lost to the sands of time here as I've seen no procedure to go back, guess I didn't look deep enough.
