Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Where do I find this setting on an ASUS MOBO?
And what is it called? "Legacy IO"?
One interesting thing out of a thousand (Legacy IO Low Latency)

Re: One interesting thing out of a thousand (Legacy IO Low Latency)
Tried googling this setting, but couldn't come up with anything. Why/how did you look into this? Just because there is a different value? It is interesting if the default value is different between MOBO brands. I have only used ASUS MOBOs in my 2 PCs, and always wonder if my issues were related to ASUS (although I do like their BIOS navigation and quick updates).

nope, i found what my pci usb 2.0 controller work bad with new z690 chipset (but work good on z390), and i find this option to improve mousetester and dpc latency for my pci usb 2.0 controller.Shade7 wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 16:18Tried googling this setting, but couldn't come up with anything. Im love bios asus, but im feel same.
Maybe asus bad by default hidden parameters, maybe bad for all. For z690 msi, this parameter like asus (disabled). I will try z690 msi board later

Could you provide instructions on how to change this setting on ASUS MOBO. I'm still a little confused.Slender wrote: ↑15 Jun 2022, 01:53nope, i found what my pci usb 2.0 controller work bad with new z690 chipset (but work good on z390), and i find this option to improve mousetester and dpc latency for my pci usb 2.0 controller.Shade7 wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 16:18Tried googling this setting, but couldn't come up with anything. Re: One interesting thing out of a thousand (Legacy IO Low Latency)
Are you saying that on say an MSI Z690 board that <Legacy IO Low Latency> is enabled by default? This was one of the main settings I was interested in w/ BIOS modding.Slender wrote: ↑08 Jun 2022, 21:25Today I learned one interesting dependency on one bios setting.
This setting is:
Legacy IO Low Latency | VarStore: PchSetup, VarOffset: 0x771, Size: 0x1
Disabled: 0x0 (default)
Enabled: 0x1
I dont know why, but it disabled on asus z690 mobo by def, but i know on msi it enable by def.
Test enable\disable:
Settings: useplatformtick yes + 0.5ms, fps_max 400.
I want to note that this is not the maximum fps, but the one on which the game "gets stuck".
upd: on msi board same (disabled)

my fold, it disable by default on all z690.kokkatc wrote: ↑22 Jun 2022, 13:17Are you saying that on say an MSI Z690 board that <Legacy IO Low Latency> is enabled by default? it helps if you use pci usb 2.0 controller.
more stable graphs on mousetester and lower dpc
Re: One interesting thing out of a thousand (Legacy IO Low Latency)
The DPC tester you use is afaik not accurate on Windows 10+.
Also, you should investigate which legacy IO we're talking about.
