hello
no i have a 240hz
5.4 is DP 1.2 and there is no way you could run 240hz at DP 1.2 from my understanding. Is your refresh actually set at 240hz?
My monitor is a AG251FZ 1920x1080 @240hz and i confirm this model has a 1.2 dp port. I have 5.4 aswell

The new cable just arrived.

Mine still says 5.4 Gbps current & max. Not sure what I was expecting, but for $15 bucks, I'm in. Seeing if I feel any difference during gameplay anyways.

GPU: 1080Ti
Monitor: ASUS VG258QM 280Hz
1000 series need a firmware update for 1.4 speeds, if you dont, 5.4 is the expected max speeds.
I have run the firmware updater a long time ago.

Tried again right now, and it says I already run it.

Is there anything else I have to do to get above 5.4 speeds?

Well, 5.4 means a 1.2 DP cable, to go further you need to upgrade to 1.4.

If you are certain about your dp version, i have no idea, maybe your monitor support only 1.2 speeds.

the cable did nothing for me :D
But I'm a DP 1.2 monitor (zowie xl2546) and GTX 1080ti. Although I did update the firmware.
Anyways, pretty sure I'll only get higher than 5.4 gbps when I have a monitor that supports DP 1.4 ... yet another reason to upgrade to the new zowie

This is correct.
My 1080 ti and Zowie xl2546 was DP 1.2 and ran 240hz just fine at 1080p.
I then patched the GPU's firmware and upgraded my monitor to the Acer 390hz and voila! 8.1gbps link rate (DP 1.4).
