Hello. I've been optimizing my system to make sure I get stable 4k polling on my mouse. So far everything is working properly but just to make sure....If I have my 4k hz polling mouse plugged into a usb 2.0 port using a usb 3.0 extension cable, will it be safe from the signal interference issues associated with usb 3.0?
4k hz polling mouse > usb 3.0 extension cable > usb 2.0 port
I've been testing different extension cables (usb 2.0 and usb 3.0) and each one gives me a different feel/ different mouse tester results.
It would be hard to move my computer closer, so for now I have to use an extension cable. The cable that came with the mouse did not have very good shielding.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
High polling rate mouse. Does a usb 3.0 extension cable cause interference?

Re: High polling rate mouse. Does a usb 3.0 extension cable cause interference?
Wrong topic -- USB 2.0 vs 3.0 is a compatibility subject rather than an interference subject.
So my answer to you is that 2.0 and 3.0 isn't a compatibility problem for computer mice.
USB 3.0 cables are backwards compatible with USB 2.0.
But if you were wondering too, USB 3.0 cables are usually more inteference-resistant than USB 2.0 cables, so interference is less likely.

I don't know the specifics, but I would guess 10ft is your upper limit at 4000hz without feeeeeeling it.

In an ideal world, you’d have no extension cable
