Re: gpu scaling vs Display scaling
FWIW, thread Milliseconds Matters. Sometimes the sub-millisecond context does matter, but "it depends".

To me, it makes sense how the different methods of scaling might lead to different results (no matter how small- <0.5ms, 1ms, etc.) when using a different resolution/aspect ratio than your monitor's native.
But do these settings make a difference when you are using your monitor's native resolution?
I can't seem to find an answer to the following question.
1. If my monitor's native resolution is 1920x1080, and I'm using it at that resolution. Does toggling between the different scaling options (aspect, fullscreen, no scaling) make any difference to the image presented? From what I've read online (not sure how true this is), people say that you should be setting it to "no scaling" when using your native resolution, since the other 2 scaling options would add some sort of extra/unnecessary processing.

What about integer scaling?
Re: gpu scaling vs Display scaling
Since there is no difference, then treat it as a placebo, although I can completely perceive his difference. .Zodasaur wrote: ↑18 Jan 2023, 13:11No.Shade7 wrote: ↑15 Jan 2023, 19:39Very interesting.timecard wrote: ↑14 Jan 2023, 11:12Regarding fullscreen, aspect ratio, no scaling (centered)

Re: gpu scaling vs Display scaling
My set up
3090ti
2566k
13900k
Gpro superlight and g502x
800dpi
I play overwatch 2 and valorant
Gpu or Display/No scaling
It always gives me icy feeling. Its very hard to control my mouse.
Display/Fullscreen
it feels like the least input lag but it gives me slight icy feeling. I can still play decent sometimes.
Gpu/Fullscreen
mouse feels consistent. I can actually track the target.
I think 500hz polling rate helps me a lot with overall icy feeling when i play overwatch 2.
Also with XMP on, i have a problem with inconsistent mouse movement. It feels like my mouse is accelerating sometimes. (My set up has 0 acceleration and 0 smoothing )
Mouse feels like super icy and fast. I can not aim when this happens. So XMP off works for me.

Re: gpu scaling vs Display scaling
What is high FPS, anything above 270-300?
Re: gpu scaling vs Display scaling
Wasn’t there a setting for “1” in the scaling registry? Can’t remember where I read about ittimecard wrote: ↑14 Jan 2023, 11:12Regarding fullscreen, aspect ratio, no scaling (centered)
