Why does 144hz feel better than 240hz in Apex Legends on controller?

Post by Stephennb » 15 Jan 2023, 18:55

I'm a pro player in Apex Legends using a Dualshock 4 controller and I'm wondering why my aim is far better on 144hz than 240hz? I tried 240hz for a few weeks and my aim just isn't as good. I've tried 190fps as well and it's not as good. I'm not the only one who thinks this way too, almost every pro controller player in this game use use 144fps cap for this exact reason, the game doesn't feel as smooth but aiming is just way easier.

No idea! What is your controller's polling rate? Maybe it has to do with it? I'm just throwing shit at the wall and see what sticks. I've never used a controller for online gaming.

As I said, I was just spitballing here. But have you tried to increase the polling rate of your controller to 1000hz? Here's a video, doesn't hurt to try: https://youtu.be/w-nbjRXciTs

Overclocked controllers are banned in LAN tournaments so pros don't use them

Unless hes a pro player that shouldnt matter.

ps4 controllers i believe are 500hz when using bluetooth , 250hz wired but ps5 controllers are 1000hz all ways so id try one of those.
