keyboard debounce/latency

Post by vyce » 06 Jun 2023, 09:12

i bought dark project kd87a, it has optical switches, and the build quality is really good, but there is a problem - there is some input latency, that is noticeable in games.
my old hyperx alloy origins has no such problem, but i absolutely hate this keyboard.
i've figured out that the problem is in the pcb, but i have no idea is it even possible to fix
both keyboards have 1000hz polling rate btw

i have kd1b, good looking board, but yes, inputlag a lot.
you can resolve this to set 125hz in hidusbf.

Will depend on the quality of the electronics it seems.

TIP: Always put high-Hz keyboard and high-Hz mouse on SEPARATE DEDICATED USB CHIPS
Problem: High-Hz poll performance interference between 1000 Hz keyboard + 1000 Hz mouse

I took the easy route and bought a ps/2 keyboard for 5€ instead of spending 100€.

okay so i did it, idk if it actually works or it's just placebo, but it SEEMS to be a little faster
also, should i check "filter on device"?

yes, you need filter on device, without it it change usb port (not device)
anyway, by def binterval=1 (1000hz/1ms) but you dont get 1ms / 1000hz (because internal keyboard bug or like that), but if you setting it to binterval=8 (125hz/8ms) keyboard work on it.
check it on site (my previous post)

For me, keyboard latency is almost unnoticeable. I had the gold standard of 20 years ago like the Logitech Elite, then a Steelseries, Razer BlackWidow, 2 Corsair k70, and Apex Mini. Now I have the Wooting 60HE considered the best low latency keyboard and a Magic Keyboard from Apple with more than 20ms of latency.
Guess what, I’m preferring the Magic Keyboard (on cable).

wish i could order wooting, but i live in Russla, so that's gonna be pretty difficult and expensive
i'd rather order xtrfy k5, because 60% keyboards are really inconvenient for me, and full size is useless

Hello. I also have a kd3b keyboard and it has a slight delay. Tell me what do you mean by hidusbf? Need to download a modified driver from here https://www.overclock.net/threads/usb-m ... z.1589644/ ?
Or is it enough to download the software for the keyboard and change the polling frequency in it?
I changed the polling rate to 125Hz on the keyboard but didn't notice any difference.
