Hello everyone,
I wanted to share my recent experience and solution in case anyone else encounters the same issue.
Problem:
I was facing a persistent problem with my SN850 NVMe drive where my mouse movements were laggy and floaty. It seemed like the default stornvme.sys driver wasn't handling interrupts efficiently, which somehow affected my mouse's performance.
Attempted Solutions:
I tried various troubleshooting steps, such as updating the drivers, checking for interference, and even adjusting mouse settings, but nothing resolved the lag.
Solution:
After some research, I came across a suggestion to use Intel's Rapid Storage Technology (RST) driver for NVMe drives that don't have specific drivers. Initially, I was skeptical since the SN850 is not an Intel drive, but I decided to give it a try.
Outcome:
To my surprise, installing the RST driver worked! The RST driver was successfully installed for my non-Intel NVMe drive, and the mouse lag disappeared. My mouse now moves smoothly without any of the previous floatiness or sticking.
Final Thoughts:
I'm not entirely sure why the RST driver resolved the mouse lag issue, but it seems to handle interrupts better than the default driver. If you're experiencing similar issues with your NVMe drive and mouse performance, it might be worth trying the RST driver even if your NVMe isn't an Intel product.
Please remember to create a system restore point before attempting this fix, just in case you need to revert back.
I hope this helps someone out there who might be dealing with this frustrating problem.

If I’m seeing this correctly you’re installing the driver for the controller and not the m2 drive.
Re: little fix for users that have nvme without drivers
hey no its on m2 driver as u can see there no stormnvme.sys anymore

Can you link where you originally found the driver?

Please explain step by step how you installed this driver. Since it does not make sense quite yet.
Re: little fix for users that have nvme without drivers
He has a intel mb. I think he thinks he installed this driver for his nvme ssd which is in fact unlikely because the driver is for the intel controller. As seen in his screenshots.. it literally states: controller 🫡

Re: little fix for users that have nvme without drivers
Ty you just explained what i said above. Not saying it can’t help with the problem. But installed on the controller instead of nvme drive. It doesn’t matter what brand nvme drive you use because it’s a intel controller
