Weird dropouts in mouse tester

Post by EskaroFPS » 28 Mar 2024, 10:48

Hey blur busters community,
I decided to check mousetester again because my mouse started feeling different and I noticed something I haven't seen before. Maybe someone has an explanation for it? I tried it with several mice and all have the same 'issue'.

Had same kind of issue but with wired one (lamzu atlantis mini), tried "shielding" with aluminum foil by just putting it around it and under the desk just right below mousepad :D. Didn't think it'd make any difference, but mouse feels kind of snappier. Guess it's because of wifi's around my apartment or 'emi interference'.

that's without aluminum foils:
polling rate deviation is 697
average is 988.174

aand with foils around mouse:
polling rate deviation is 70
average is 999.999

Interesting stuff! Maybe that's the reason, why sometimes the mouse pollingrate graphs behaive randomly, even on fully optimized windows?
Gotta say, I personally didn't have as bad of results as your first pic. So maybe you just have more EMI. But sometimes my graphs have like 200hz of variaton.

I would like to know, which mouse did you use? Wireless or wired?

90% optimized Windows 7. PC right next to router, a bunch of other cables and devices, phone next to me. However I had those dropous sometimes and a restart always solved it.

I don't really understand the deviations too much but the thing that confuses me is that there are holes in my graphs. No deviations but seemingly full dropouts.
