possible to have a program for blind testing?

flood's input lag thread and some recent threads at overclock have got me thinking about standardizing blind testing with a program.

The program would have to do the following:

1) invisibly set a particular variable to a random value (e.g. HPET on or off).
2) cue the user to load their testing app (e.g. CSGO).
3) ask the user to input their guess about what value the variable is set to, for this particular trial.
4) repeat the process X number of times.
5) output a score, along with a p value.

Yes, people could "cheat" by going into their system between steps 1 and 3 and seeing what the variable is set to, but for those who are genuinely interested in debugging their own intuitions and placebo effects, this could be interesting. Also, would be a streamlined and standardized way to report blind testing results, and ideally one could submit a video of the block of trials.

Is it possible to have a program change a bios setting like HPET automatically, and invisibly?

God no! That would be silly, Imagine the damage that could be caused by programs that could change bios settings.

tbh for most reasonable humans you only need like 4 blind trials before they realize how heavily their perception is affected by cognitive effects
