Resolution vs input lag vs FPS in CSGO 75hz

Post by fliperpl » 07 Nov 2015, 08:11

Hello guys.
I need to a bit help with CSGO settings.

I was using fullhd for past 2 months, but some times my fps is a bit low (like 140 from 300) and i am feeling HUGE fps lag in some places and maps (for example cobble and train works awfull, but dust2/inferno works fine - because i have more stable fps in dust2/inferno than train/cobble)

now i am playing on 1024x768 for like week and i am feeling smooth diffrence compare to fullhd. But now my fov is lower and i am not glad with it.

What should i try? Isnt native resolution should be better because of disabled scaling?

My PC is :
GTX660 2GB OC
Intel X3430 @ 3.8ghz
4gb DDR3 1600mhz
ocz sxs2 600w
seagate 500GB 7200.12
Xifi music
acer g245hq overclocked to 75hz without framedrops

MY DPC latency is for about 20-50 in idle. I did follow some guides that are helping to lower DPC latency. My drivers are 344.11 (what i read that they are "miracle" drivers for input lag)

Well you went from 1920x1080 to 1024x768 which are completely different aspect ratios, which might explain your fov issue.

Nvidia cards have problems with GPU scaling lower resolutions for some reason. It adds frames of input lag, at least 3-4 frames. AMD cards only add 1 frame at most.

If you want proper aspect ratio on a 16:9 monitor at 1080p you can use 1440x1080 custom resolution and use 1:1 or aspect setting.

hmm..
For now i am playing 1280x800 16:10 full screen and for some reason my game is working fine. But i am looking for low-res because at LAN-s we cant get high fps on native resolutions, thats why i am forced to play with scaling.
Will try in some days 1440x1080. Thanks for reply!

You can use display scaling resolution. Just create in nvidia for example 1024x768 and in active pixels type 1024 and 768 too and use "Display - No scaling". This absolute minimize input lag.
