Display scaling vs GPU scaling? 2019

Hello! So I'm always asking myself what to use to get less input lag for gaming?
There's so many people saying that display scaling has 0input lag but is it really true tho?
Can some1 actually do a new test ? like using GTX1070 and XL2430T.. Because I really would like to know should I use display scaling or gpu scaling?
As I've seen most of the CSGO players prefer GPU scaling and they aren't all playing on blackbars..
Also have seen some of them using Display scaling but mostly GPU scaling seems most popular among them
