Re: internet latency & effects on hit registration
The line was full Cooper with fastpath and direct to the central isp? FEC error Is not a problem anyway.oldschool007 wrote: ↑25 Jul 2021, 05:29unfortunately, i can hardly see any difference. The ping is about half about 5-6 ms to google. The first few hours everything felt without delay but I now hardly notice a difference to vdsl.
According to my information it runs only FEC (forward error correction) but this is rarely active.
I ask if it is possible to turn it off but I don't think it is anymore.
The line runs completely over copper.
A buddy has upgraded ftth from 250 mbit to 1 gbit and there should be no fec. For him, the gameplay has changed positively.
It is an absolute mystery

exactly the line runs completely over copper. Error correction is probably on but there are no corrected errors on the line and a direct connection to the ISP.
unfortunately i have to activate the packet prioritization myself by marking it in the header of the data packets. unfortunately i haven't done that yet and so i couldn't use the full potential of the leased line.
i didn't know that and i'm still trying to do it. you can do it through firewall, router or switch but i don't have any experience with it.

https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads ... s.3460148/ link with video on how to configure qos/dscp marking
Re: internet latency & effects on hit registration
hellooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
this not works, because ISP immediate remove ALL marks from packets, just only receive packets from the customers.
DO YOU UNDERSTAND THIS???? Lol, what I am talking about.
Please make me another ban, this dumbass has no brain.

Re: internet latency & effects on hit registration
not if hes on a dedicated line yea in normal scenarios they disregard the marking im well aware of that
Re: internet latency & effects on hit registration
guys guys guys, this is not a normaly QoS what he wants to make on his own home network, he needs to mark his packets threw a diffrent software since he has not even a basic router where he just can log in.
