Because W7 is so much better than 10 the scheduler optimizations on 10 wont compensate for it. As for security, dual boot a W10 install on another partition/drive.

I don't see why you can't just install windows 7, disable dwm, and go on with your life, trying to tame windows 10 is futile.
After a few years, or several, try using linux, it keeps getting better and better for gaming every passing year.

You dont need to update Windows 7. You can just use it in its pure, high performance , vulnerable state without security mitigations if youre only going to play games on it and use a patched W10 for everything else.
I wish you guys would read my posts before replying. Why would I be using Win 7 on a 3900x 5700xt build without any of the security or scheduler optimizations ?
Unless you're gonna be using your gaming computer for sensitive work, security shouldn't concern you, especially if you don't visit shady websites.

I've gotten this far. It's too late for me now. I've found almost every possible tweak there is. This final tweaks goes down to the root core of the problem. Everything else is just Icing on the cake.

What tweaks would you actually recommend doing that actually have a advantage in terms of input lag.

Bare install of w7 is still better than tweaked 10

Even though you have a ryzen 3000 series that isn't supported on windows 7 and can't benefit from it's optimizations?

I've tried Win 7 on Ryzen 1600 before. It's not really worth it, especially for multi monitor setup. The input lag still returned because it got shitty updates from Win 10. So much work to get it to install too.

Guess I'll stick to W10 then but what are some tweaks that have actually helped for you? The only tweak I've found to help is setting the HPET timer.

Man what the heck is up with this damn forum; does no one read anymore? Why do I always need to repeat myself. Everything I needed to say is literally on the first post of this thread. Look at the first link from my AMD guide.

What you call a guide. More like a memoir.

In short.
You have come a long hard way. After reading the huge guide, you inspiredly tried everything that was offered. And talked about their feelings.
Ultimately, the conclusion is that ryzen is not optimized on older versions of windows and you don’t get the expected performance, and on newer versions of windows, the incoming lag + broken efs.
Am I missing something?
I often do not clearly state my thoughts. google translate is far from perfect. And in addition to the translator, I myself am mistaken. Do not take me seriously.
