We weren't exactly hiding the development process anyways. Tomshardware even posted a "review" in October. The NDAs with testers are mostly in place to ensure no teardowns or other "trade secrets" get leaked.
Yes, it's a faster microcontroller with USB high-speed. Sensor is not the same as standard Viper (3390), it's the same as the Viper Ultimate (3399).
Well I mean come on it's not really a "trade secret" you basically got one of the major micro-controller providers to open up the USB 3.0+ system to basically operate at a higher speed and handle it. You could have been doing this as far back as 2012-2013 when USB 3.0 popped up. Both to the psuedo- if not outright interrupt based system like found on PS/2 and also the 8,000:Hz(125 microsecond)-24,000:Hz(41.6 microsecond) properties. Your being kinda silly stating it's a tear down or "trade secret" like literally by stating it comes from the Viper Ultimate it's already giving away the surprise that it's either a new-gen IC or a custom work. You just connected the dots for a other people.
In reality your just kinda milking every minor upgrade possible. What's next 10,000, 12,000, 15,000, 20,000 and finally 24,000Hz.
You know who else does this Logitech. They state some BS that it's proprietary and whatnot when in reality it's just some alteration and custom work from one of the major IC vendors. Same with Pixart and all these other guys out there.
Might as well perform a simulation examination with an engineering board design and just max out USB 3.0. Might as well rant to USB consortium to create or ensure next generation USB device systems since USB is gonna remain hell I would not be surprised if even at year 2100 we still got USB devices around. Might as well pop them in the head and make them focus on creating a superior system in regards to operating speeds of said higher hertz.
Anyways in regards to the higher hertz that is nice and all but why did you not just max out to 24,000Hz ignoring things like PC can't handle it or ports can't handle it. It would have given you a huge marketing tool to leverage against every other vendor.
Things I'd like to see is USB-C with Adapters to A that way we can transition away from A ports and FINALLY since 2015 focus on a single port T-C.
And two maxing out of the USB system to 24,000Hz. Instead of the usual milking every customer for the R&D value. Might as well make a "killer" app product and just force every ones hands. That way it's like Razer comes in at gun point to every other mouse maker. Max out or die at your 1,000:Hz systems.
And not just for mouse but for keyboards as well I notice we focus too much on mice but keyboards should procure data faster to the PC. I don't think I've seen anyone do any real tests on USB 3.0+ 8K-24K for keyboards.
Well what can I say with the 8K polling rate for the microsoft mice a while back and currently with others using 2,000Hz and with Razer 8,000Hz it's a sorry state when this could all been introduced back when USB 3.0 came out with forum posts like Overclock.net discussing the changes and others mentioning ignorant stuff on USB 3.0 when all of this could have just been done nearly a DECADE ago.
At least it's come now but again by now we should have already maxed out the USB3.0+ protocol system at 24,000Hz.
