Hey Guys,
this is my first post on this forum or pretty much any forum so far, but i just wanted to share something which i discovered today: I mainly play Overwatch (which is a fps game where FPS and input lag matter a lot) and have been dealing with the problem of input lag for a really long time now. I tried out so much before (trying out new monitor, cpu, GPU, literally almost EVERYTHING i could think of), but this simple setting made me help a HUGE amount:
I switched up a setting in the Control Panel: go to 3D-Settings and go to "VERTICAL SYNCHRONIZATION" and switch it to "fast".
I know this is super simple and super stupid, but i NEVER heard of it before through my long trip of searching (I searched for a solution for 2 YEARS LOL) im so fucking hyped right now sry xDDD
Regards,
Ancharizz
HUGE Fix at Input Lag!!!!

enjoy your placebo my friend xD
Re: HUGE Fix at Input Lag!!!!
Fast sync will cause input lag, not fix it.
Re: HUGE Fix at Input Lag!!!!
Let me gues it was On? You will be even more amazed with Off.

Re: HUGE Fix at Input Lag!!!!
If the OP was previously running uncapped V-SYNC off, Fast Sync would indeed increase input lag, but if the OP was instead running uncap V-SYNC, Fast Sync would reduce input lag by at least two frames (assuming non-GPU-bound situation).
Hard to say though, since the OP didn't specify.

Re: HUGE Fix at Input Lag!!!!
Could you describe precisely your "input lag" in games or record it?
Re: HUGE Fix at Input Lag!!!!
if u want really low input lag for overwatch try my settings
why set refresh rate to ff0? its hidden feature that nvidia missing its called low-Latency REFRESH_RATE_OVERRIDE_LOW_LATENCY_RR_MASK
u can check here https://docs.nvidia.com/gameworks/conte ... gs_8h.html
DISALLOWED is the lowest input lag flip is good to but if u want hit ur shots over smoothing try it
now the real settings that give u snappy mouse movement
MAX_PENDING_CMD_BUFFERS to 0x1 remove the stutters/lag
MCFORCEHOSTSTAGINGBUFFERSIZE this is really fun u can check it over 1000 but recommending not go above 20 set it 0x00000001 for extreme mouse input lagless
enjoy the fastest mouse input in ow
one more thing i forgot to say to u make sure low latency is off cause disallowed work best with off

Re: HUGE Fix at Input Lag!!!!
Fast sync is still worse than G-sync / capped and fixed refresh capped/uncapped in terms of input lag.

Re: HUGE Fix at Input Lag!!!!
Correct. In all likelihood, the OP was running VSYNC ON.jorimt wrote: ↑15 Nov 2020, 17:55If the OP was previously running uncapped V-SYNC off, Fast Sync would indeed increase input lag, but if the OP was instead running uncap V-SYNC, Fast Sync would reduce input lag by at least two frames (assuming non-GPU-bound situation).
Hard to say though, since the OP didn't specify.
Fast Sync is indeed much lower lag than VSYNC ON.
That said, capped VRR is even lower-lag than Fast Sync.
If you hate VSYNC OFF, then I recommend capped VRR where possible. And where that fails, one of the low-lag VSYNC methods such as RTSS Scanline Sync. There are a large number of low-latency tricks for those who don't want to see VSYNC OFF tearing.
However -- not to disappoint the OP; let the OP savour and enjoy this moment. It is always a pleasant discovery to discover something that really improve latency, even if it is well known to some of us. Some of us just hate VSYNC OFF for one reason or another (some of us are unusually extra-sensitive to tearing, etc). Don't let it bother you (the realization that this isn't a new tweak ) -- I wholeheartedly welcome to the world of low latency tweaking!
