Help with weird Mousetester Graph

Post by dbc_lx » 10 Jun 2021, 06:28

Hi,

I just performed some tests with mousetester (purely out of curiosity, cause the mouse felt weird to me switching between 500 and 1000 Hz) and because i wanted to see how the Orochi v2 performs, then I got this at 1000Hz:

and a pretty normal result at 500Hz:

I was doing smooth, slow swipes in the shape of a 90° turned 8. Can someone help me make sense out this, i've never seen a graph like the on at 1000Hz before. Thanks in advance, Alex.

Make sure you rule out possible USB contention.

Try playing port lottery. You might be getting contention between multiple USB devices.

Try an external USB3 card.

That plot doesn't look proper but it could be stable, when the plot is stable with few spikes it should look similar or "better" than the screenshot I posted. Probably just needs to adjust the start point from 0 to 1 and it'll auto adjust the plot.

Wrote this not long ago, may help you get started.
