Gaming Router to eliminate bufferbloat

Post by Simon95 » 23 Jul 2021, 00:22

I search a router that reduce the bufferbloat. Can someone suggest a good router? I have 30MBIT Internet VDSL.

I purchased a NETGEAR XR300 for this reason. Seems OK, no issues with it. Bufferbloat test are A+ now, but honestly I don't notice a difference while gaming.

In my home are a 4 persons which use the internet. When one person watches Netflix I will have pi g and packet loss issues. With queue management this should not be a problem.

Option 2: I solved it like this with fibre 1gb

From CMD run this command:
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
(restart the pc)

FOR RESTORE: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

I can vouch for Asuswrt-Merlin compatible Asus routers.

Fq_codel is great to reduce bufferbloat.

edgerouter x is cheap and good. You can use QoS cake, which is the best right now.

Ignore these stupid websites with tests.
If you want a real test, start the download torrent with 200 seeds with unlimited download speed.
Start playing the online game while torrent download at maximum speed in your channel.
If you game ping jump or going up, your router is bad. End of the story, you will be definitely under bufferbloat.

I change a million devices, and the only cisco passes this test properly, of course with the right configuration ;).

using this command in CMD .. before triple A..after triple A+..the only thing i noticed after implementing this command,is that my dl speed on that particular site for testing was reduced from 850-950dl to 150-170dl..even thou my actual speed didnt changed..its as usual 900-950.. so this command works..good shit
