CSGO Input Lag/Performance

Post by morelczi » 24 Sep 2021, 12:37

hey guys,

I have a question if anyone here was trying some windows/nvidia/autoexec commands settings for lowest input lag and best performance in CS:GO? If yes can someone post screenshots etc what did you change? Like nvidia control panel, autoexec commands, some windows optimizations?

Thanks

Nvidia panel power set to maximum performance
Refresh rate highest possible
Vsync turned off
Full screen optimization enabled
Reduce graphics settings from highest to lowest
Pc power settings set to high

All of these wouldn't help much if you have electricity/emi induced input lag, the only pc related fix for this is temporary and its done by reinstalling windows and playing the game immediately after. If you high fps high hz good internet and u feel heavy input lag, then wrap it up, its over

Ok thanks any suggestions about low latency mode in nvidia?

If your GPU usage ingame is above I'd say 90% then On or Ultra will help otherwise keep it (LLM) off.

Nvidia Power plan to maximum sets maximum 'normal' clock, but not the highest possible.

There's still a difference of 400/500mhz due to 'boost' clock.

You can use MSI Afterburner etc to trick GPU into absolute maximum core clocks. (In which case you can just set Nvidia to adaptive)

Just don't maximize GPU and you should not or practically not queue frames, in which case tweaking this option makes little sense. Should be used as last measure if its not possible to reduce gpu load further without dropping desires fps target.

(Maybe G-sync is an exception but even there im not fond of using ULLM etc, i seem to achieve lowest latency with just capping in-game limiter and dont touch this option)

As for Full screen optimizations it should have zero effect on latency, except maybe on the very high end fps spectrum (There's a wild difference of 200/300 fps sometimes when uncapped but we're talking situations where you're hitting 999fps)

I turn it off personally because i regularly play music while CSGO'ing and changing volume forces the OSD and full screen mode disables shortly.

Afterburner is default i didnt change anything there.
My PC:
CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K @ 3.6GHz
RAM: 32 GB DDR4 3200 MHz
Graphics Card: GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB GDDR6 256 BIT

Power Supply: 700 W
Edit:
Maybe someone has good settings for ALIENWARE AW2521H for FPS games like CS?
