so it's weird when I do the pendulum test, I see the frequency of my screen which varies, on the other hand in games it remains at 165hz. while gsync is enabled.

What are you using to see the "frequency" of your screen?

a menu on the screen tells me the frequency. with the test it varies between 70 and 80 hz. in games it remains at 165hz

In the games that stay at 165Hz, are you using borderless/windowed or fullscreen?

Also, for games that don't have a 60 FPS limit built-in, are you setting a 162 FPS limit with RTSS or Nvidia Max Frame Rate?

I am using full screen mode.
but the games I play are capped at 60fps.
I tested windowed mode, and the same screen remains at 165hz

What games is this occurring in?

in street fighter 5.
but i found out that sf5 blocked gsync.
you had to use profile inspector, deleted the sf5 profile, and finally gsync works, I see it because there is a gsync indication at the top right of the screen.
and the hz of my screen stabilizes at 60hz.
on the other hand my game is clean and above all I feel a reduced input lag.
thanks for your article on gsync!
if there is other optimization I am listening to you!

Ah, that would explain it. Glad to hear you got it figured out.

Hello .
there is something that i do not understand.
certain session when gsync is activated my screen frequency varies between 50 and 165hz at a crazy speed!
and then other gsync session activated my frequency varies between 58 and 65hz.
all on the same games.
any idea what created this?
in normal gsync should work how?
thank you

It's probably your meter picking up LFC (low framerate compensation). LFC occurs when the framerate drops below your monitor's maximum supported physical refresh rate, at which point it doubles, triples, sometimes quadruples the amount of times it refreshes each frame to keep the effective framerate within the G-SYNC range.

For instance, let's say you have a monitor with a minimum physical VRR range of 45Hz; when your game drops below 45 FPS, even for a moment, it will refresh the frame twice, jumping up to 90Hz/FPS momentarily.

That, and those built-in meters on FreeSync monitors aren't 100% accurate. They just give you a general idea.
