I got this monitor 2 days ago as an upgrade from my previous Acer XF270HU. I actually tried a few monitors as an upgrade, which were 165hz (+ OC to 170hz or 180hz). All the other upgrades I tried felt so much more fast input whise than my current one even though the hz are just slightly higher but I enjoyed that.
Now i got this Acer which is 240hz or 270 with OC and the moment I plugged it in it felt already laggy. It feels slower than my 144hz Acer even though it has 240hz. So I am definitely assuming some kind of monitor processing lag.
Weirdly reviews online all say that it has extremely low input lag which I can't confirm. I have also bought an extra DP 1.4 cable which did improve the lag but not by much and it still isn't anywhere close to what I would consider lag free.
I have tried all monitor settings already. Overdrive options, low input lag option, Freesync, VRB, nothing improves it.
I also noticed that the monitor is faster in 240hz mode than when overclocked to 270hz.
Is it maybe possible that the monitor overheats and that increases input lag? I mean it definitely is pretty hot to the touch and the power adapter is extremely hot.
If there is anything else that could cause it please tell me, it just doesn't feel like a 240hz monitor should feel like. I prefer my 144hz monitor at this point.

Maybe because it is 2560x1440 your gpu is close to 100% utilization.

Re: XV272UX input lag problem
Okay but how does that make the input lag worse at 240hz? Both monitors are 1440p and all monitors I tried before this one were 1440p. Also the other monitors I tried had less input lag at 170hz than my old 144hz monitor. But this one at 240hz is laggy and obvious at that.greenenemy wrote: ↑14 Jan 2022, 15:29Maybe because it is 2560x1440 your gpu is close to 100% utilization.

Interesting, very interesting.
What other symptoms have you noticed?

Re: XV272UX input lag problem
I tried a few more tests since last time and I can pretty sure tell that the input lag isn't worse on 270hz than on 240hz. It actually gets worse the lower the refresh rate is (and is the same on 240 vs 270hz as I only change the overclocking in the OSD). On 144hz it is quiet noticeable and I recorded both monitors at 144hz with 225fps and the result was a input lag increase of around 8ms in comparison to my old monitor. On 270hz is is lower than my 144hz monitor purely because it is a higher refresh rate but I am guessing there is still some sort of processing going on (maybe an extra processing frame?) which makes me not appreciate the higher Hz as much as possible.assombrosso wrote: ↑14 Jan 2022, 20:41Interesting, very interesting.

I guess there is no workaround the monitors hardware processing so I have to live with it, unless someone has any suggestion on what to try.
