Hi!
I've bought this product recently: https://www.uptab.com/displayport-1-4-t ... rrencyId=1
I thought it might support VRR as advertised but of course it doesn't - but what's worse is that I've discovered two issues:
- the loss of image quality(was already expecting it)
- significant input lag
Before I've bought the cable I've tried to learn about the cost of the conversions - viewtopic.php?t=6919 - so I knew that it won't be free but I didn't expected it to be so bad. After using it for a few hours with the latest firmware I was pretty sure that the input lag is simply too high so I tested myself with this: https://www.humanbenchmark.com/tests/reactiontime. On my usual 1440p/120hz setup I get results between 150-170ms, on 4k60hz I get 170-190ms but with this cable at 4k120hz it was 200-240ms - all with the same display and the same HDMI2.1 main cable. Is this normal?
DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI2.1 Active Adapter w/ Considerable Input Lag

Unfortunately it sounds normal. You will probably have better luck with a passive adapter that does not buffer frames for processing them. If your video output supports DP++ that is. Some GPUs do.
