Vsync 1/3, 1/2, 1/4 what's the difference? (other than the different refresh rate)

I've tried to look for information on the internet, but there isn't any.
Are there any downsides to using 1/3 instead of 1/2 for example?

There are no "downsides" to using 1/3 over 1/2, per say. It will just cap to a lower multiple of the current max physical refresh rate.

I.E. on a 240Hz monitor:

- 1/2 = 120Hz
- 1/3 = 80Hz
- 1/4 = 60Hz

To determine the Hz cap with these methods, simply take your current max physical refresh rate and divide it by 2, 3, or 4 respectively.

There are no other behaviors to this setting other than double buffer V-SYNC set by Hz multiples (that I'm aware of).

I wonder if 1:1 vsync has less lag than 1/2 for example or 1/3, or the opposite.
