XL2411Z (20Z) color profile

Post by Razorless » 29 Nov 2014, 14:51

Hey there,
I created a color profile with my Spyder4pro for the XL2411Z. Should also look good on 20Z since it uses the same panel as far as I know.

http://www.mediafire.com/download/caani ... 1Z-1v4.icm

Settings used:
120Hz VT1500
picture mode: standard
Brightness: 100
Contrast: 40
Low Blue Light: 0
Color Temp: User 100/100/100
AMA: High
Sharpness: 6
Gamma mode 5

White Point 6500K, gamma 2.2 (target) as usual.

Edit: I almost forgot (since I am using Spyder Software that does this) that it is not enough to select the color profile. You will also need to load the LUT table into your GPU. This can be done using a third party "LUT-Loader" or through Windows color management.
See here for details on how to activate Win7 LUT management:

As I sad earlier, most Fullscreen Applications will override this.

Solution 1:
Borderless windowed, this is a Window that looks exactly like fullscreen since border are removed and it covers the entier screen. My favourite applications are:

http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/39550/?

Solution 2:
There are third party applications that can prevent this. Easiest method is using a hardware calibration device such as the Spyder4pro that comes with software to do this.

Slightly more complicated but free:

Edit:
Here are some other programs that prevent 3d fullscreen applications from overriding the profile:

Note: use only one color profile program, they might interfere with each other

They should work in theory but I had limited success with locking the profile. Might be because they interfered with my spyder software (see note above)

If you have more questions feel free to ask.

The "settings used" need to be set in the OSD, however the ".icm" profile has be loaded by windows or another color managing profile.

There is no way to set VT in the OSD, you will need to do this through a custom resolution. Look here for details:

Sorry for the late reply, but for anyone interested: no, a color profile can not be set on consoles

I tried it but it has too much red for my taste, you can compare it with this one which I am using:
