I have the BENQ XL2411Z
So I did the 1502 cru utility trick when adding a XL2420Z profile, as I'm told that one has good colors. Problem is, the screen is still a bit dark to my liking, even with brightness turned to 100. Strobe Utility is set to 1.5, i dont want to go higher. The weird thing is, no matter what I change the cru total setting too, the brightness doesnt adjust.
I noticed this under the cru utility... it says the monitoir I have, but shouldnt it say the profile name I am using (xl2420z) ?
Any way, I must be doing something wrong...
Added new profile but still too dark
Re: Added new profile but still too dark
XL2420Z is the color profile you are using, CRU displays the monitor model which is XL2411Z.
I am not sure why but it should work, seems like you have set things correctly. I do the VT trick with nvidia control panel and got no issues with the brightness (1.5ms persistence, 100 brightness).

Did you use the pixel clock patcher? If pixel clock exceeds 330.00 MHz, all custom resolutions are ignored with that change unless you patch the dvi pixel clock limit first !

if you mean this http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Threa ... ck-PatcherFalkentyne wrote:Did you use the pixel clock patcher? If pixel clock exceeds 330.00 MHz, all custom resolutions are ignored with that change unless you patch the dvi pixel clock limit first !
then yes I did. I am not sure when I did it, does order matter?

holy cow I fixed it!
Apparently custom resolutions were not working as DSR-FACTORS was enabled in "manage 3d settings"

It's been mentioned that custom resolutions do not work with Nvidia's DSR.
Attempting to use VT tweaks with AMD's VSR limits 2560x1440 to 60 hz instead of 100 hz (which is sort of pointless). So if you want to use DSR, you need to use a refresh rate that doesn't have a VT tweak (I have multiple CRU profiles for what I use).

Yes and no. They won't appear in the Nvidia Control Panel, but they'll be in the monitor properties in Windows. Switching resolutions in-game will make the monitor revert to non custom refresh rates (in my case 60Hz and 144Hz), and that annoyance is why I almost never enable DSR. If the games you use simply take the refresh rate from desktop, then no problem.Falkentyne wrote:It's been mentioned that custom resolutions do not work with Nvidia's DSR.
The advantage of 3D Vision 2 is that it will force Lightboost at any resolution when I play in 3D. It would be very bad if it switched to 60Hz in 2D when changing resolution .
