182 VT tweak possible on xl2540K?

Post by lehobe » 26 Aug 2022, 14:46

I have the xl2540K instead of the xl2540. I plan to play FPS games @165hz because my PC isn't powerful enough to run the full 240hz flawlessly. The maximum VT I can set without going out of range is 1350 @ 203hz. I've been seeing people on the xl2540 set their VT to 1500+ @180/182hz. Is VT1350 the max I can apply to the xl2540K or are my settings just not right?

Try the following

180hz refresh rate
HT: 2080
VT: between 1400 and 1550, as high as you can go without going out of range.
1550 VT should give you pixel clock 580.32 and horizontal freq 279.000 khz.

Thank you. It worked.
180hz
HT: 2080
VT: 1470 (Highest I could go)
Pixel Clock: 550.37 // Horizontal Freq: 264.600 khz

The strobe crosstalk motion test is much more clear. The downside is that I am not able to access the monitors settings menu. Trying to access the monitor settings gives me a "Out of Range!" notification that eventually disappears but will return every now and then. A little annoying, but not a problem.

I've been reading a lot about VT tweaking on this website and your name always pops up for this subject. Thanks for the help man. I appreciate you. I'd like to ask another question if I may.

Are there any benefits to using a VT tweak when using Freesync? (From what I gathered, I believe that it can lower input lag(?)) I have a 240hz monitor and I can set the VT@2000 @144HZ.

I'm on the fence on whether to use Freesync or Blur Reduction.. Both are so good.. It's a shame you can't use them both at the same time lol. I believe that RTSS Scanline Sync works well with Blur Reduction but I think it requires low GPU usage. I'm currently playing Apex Legends which is very GPU intensive so I don't think using RTSS Scanline Sync is an option for me.
