Post by MCzero1 » 01 Jul 2014, 07:18

So i want to buy a new monitor and choose would be XL2411T or XL2411Z. Games i play are Team Fortress 2,Quake live.Z version has blur reduction, while T version has lightboost.Would Z Verstion be still worth if i couldnt use Blur strobe utility because monitor might be First 1v and i dont want to upgrade

I have the xl2411z monitor.

I dont like the blur reduction. ( yes I have v2 and using the shitty tool. It cost me 5 hours to flash the new firmware for it and I dont use it omg... )

Get the xl2411t one.

He is either sensitive to flicker or games he plays do not benefit much from blur reduction.

I DONT BENEFIT FROM THE BLUR REDUCTION IT JUST MAKES MY SCREEN DARKER ( I know I can set the settings to bright but then it's very useless)
AND IT'S A USELESS FEATURE.

MORE FEATURES = MONITOR SLOWER
SO TAKE THE "T" VERSION.

BUT I STILL LOVE ONEHUNDRER44 HERTZ AND THE LOW INPUT LAG <3
YOU WON'T MAKE ANY BAD BUY DECISIONS BUT THE "T" VERSION IS BETTER TRUST ME.

There is no need to insult the utility that Mark gave us for free. And it definitely serves its purpose.

It may be useless for you, but it's surely a great feature for most people. For me, it's a game changer. Motion blur makes me want to puke (almost seriously). The OP says he might get a V1 accidentally. In that case, Lightboost is better. Please, make sure you get a V2. Nowadays it's 100% possible to get one from certain stores.

I've shown my XL2411Z to 4 friends (well, one of them has himself a XL2420Z):

- One of them (the XL2420Z owner) says he doesn't notice the difference, even when I pointed at the motion blur with my finger and removed it (the blur, not the finger  ) with the press of a button. I think he simply doesn't care :? . At least I upgraded his monitor and recouped part of the money I spent to get the MSTAR unit.
- Another one was amazed. He loved it so much that he wanted to buy one. He noticed the difference instantly.
- Another one has used a good CRT for years, so he knows what this is about.
- The last one noticed the difference and thinks it's cool, but he doesn't want to spend that much money "only" for blur reduction or high Hz.

The BenQ Z series monitors are simply better than the T series. And at least in my country, they cost the same. The motion blur reduction flexibility makes it better than lightboost, because you aren't limited to 100 and 120 Hz to use it, and I definitely notice the difference between 0.5ms strobe and 1.5ms strobe ingame, not only in tests. If you have a Nvidia GPU and the 3D Vision emitter, you can also have Lightboost. Having both blur reduction methods is better than having only one, I guess  .

1. shitty isnt an insult.
2. Dont take it serious bra
3. I dont know. Ingame ( not talking about motion blur tests) it is maybe just a little bit sharper. But it doesnt compensate the darkness. I can see more with blur + bright screen than dark + no motion blur. ( I am playing csgo )
4. Do you have a BenQ Monitor from T series ?
I dont think so. You have no comparison.

The T model only supports LightBoost, which is even darker than benq blur reduction. So the T model is not actually better. It's worse.

Monitor with more features = more things to do.
Both monitors have the same hardware.
So the T one is a bit faster.
So the T model is a bit better, actually not worse

How is it "faster", exactly.

I'm sorry, but you're talking nonsense.
