Firmware Version BenQ/Zowie XL2720-B

Post by balz333 » 16 Oct 2022, 12:14

Hello together,

sorry for my bad english but I hope you understand my questions.
I would like to know what firmware version have my Benq Zowie XL2720-B. Therefore I have read you guide about access to Service/Factory Menu.
But the XL2720-B have only vertical touch pads and not mechanical buttons. In the guide is decribed to hold button#2 and power on. But if I do that the after touch of button #2 the monitor is automatic power on and I get only the input interface menu.
Maybe somebody can help me to find out which firmware version my XL2720-B have.

Thanks for your help!
Mario

For interested users with vertical touch-sensitive buttons. For enter the service menu hold the second from bottom touch-sensitive button while powering on. Once turned on, press any button to bring up this service menu.

Knows somebody what is the last firmware version for the XL2720? I have the V008-20160815

I haven't seen a firmware newer than this. And Benq seemed to stop supporting user upgradeable firmwares after they took down the original firmware downloads for their first Z series blur reduction monitors many years ago (which users were expected to upgrade either with the Mstar dongle, or Linux flashrom).

I think the last time anyone even dumped firmware was during the early XL2540 days, with all those Black Equalizer and strobing bugs that existed at release (Intensity not improving persistence, etc), and I completely forgot if flashrom supported these models.
