custom resolutions and vt trick?

Post by PGWooster » 03 Jul 2014, 13:17

Hi Guys,

I have an xl27z. Is it possible create a custom res. of,say, 1280x720, 120hz with the bright effect on blur reduction? I want to use blur reduction on cs go, but its too dark for me at that res. Its great for the 1920x1080 res, but that res hurts gameplay.

Thanks

Remove all of those "standard resolutions" from CRU. They cause cable errors. The same thing happens if you enter the SAME resolutions/refresh rates on a VG248QE (same manufacturer even tho its a 24" vs 27" panel). Other than that, yes, but it will be downscaled 1920x1080.

Ok I'll remove the standard ones. What are the "Established" ones for ?

But do I not need to set the total vertical lines to a bigger number, to get the bright effect? Do I just add one to it and test it until I "go to far" and then bring it back by one?

Im a noob, in case thats not perfectly clear already.

I don't know, probably standard VESA resolutions (this goes to old CRT days).
But standard resolutions make the monitor think the resolution is native, instead of interpolated from 1920x1080.
That way you can use the OSD to adjust the aspect ratios and 1:1, and so on. If a resolution is not listed as standard (or established), then those will not work.

I'm not sure if the problem is CRU or something else, but for example, 1024x768@100 works fine as a standard resolution, but 1024x768@120 shows strange distorted lines on the far right side of the screen. It does this BOTH on the 2720Z and the asus VG248QE, so its definitely NOT some benq hardware problem.

Then 1280x1024@100 shows "incorrect cable:insert a dual link cable" error on both monitors, again. even though the image displays correctly....

Do I need to mess about with the vertical lines to get the bright effect with BR?
