Vertical Total at low resolution?

Post by davstr » 19 Sep 2014, 21:55

Hi, I want to use blur reduction with as low persistence as possible (0,5ms) but this really hurts the brightness. I've heard that the VT1350/1500 trick makes the screen slightly brighter and reduces ghosting and was wondering how I should set it up using a resolution of 1280x1024. The monitor I'm using is the XL2420Z.

On LCD's the 1280x1024 resolution is scaled down from 1920x1080 anyway, so you use those settings.
The only way to 'make' a 1280x1024 look like a native res to the monitor is to add it under established /standard resolutions in CRU, however the monitor's built in aspect ratios (for custom resolutions, in the OSD) do NOT work properly if you are using vertical totals. They cause some corruption and the aspects are simply not displayed properly.
