Firmware upgrade Benq2420Z error with ISP Tool

Post by henrikkp » 23 Feb 2015, 13:34

Hi everyone,

I am writing because i keep getting an error when opening the ISP_Tool.exe (using http://www.blurbusters.com/benq/diy-fir ... -z-series/)

I have an original Mstar Upgrader and I am following the steps in the instruction page.

The error i get when clicking the ISP_Tool.exe is:

"cannot install driver to your system! Your print port will not work!"

If i continue by following the steps in the instruction i get the following error when pressing "connect":

"Program File Not Ready !!"

I have tried on 3 different computers on Win7 64Bit, Win8.1 and Win7 32Bit
I have tried copying the ftd2xx.dll to the root folder of the ISP_Tool.exe file.

Any advice on what to do?

Thanks alot.

Since i havent found a solution and tried countless things, I have now ordered a new MStar iSP tool.

I will update with the result.

Hi,

Just had exactly the same problem. I found that windows had done its usual trick and installed the driver automatically. You'll see a com port device in unspecified devices in Devices and Printers. It'll have an ftdi driver but it isn't installed correctly.

Go to device manager and remove the com port it has installed.

Now install the driver that comes with the tool.

Plug in the USB cable you should now see the mstar device in unspecified devices in Devices and Printers.

Go to the config menu on the ISP tool. Select the port type as USB and hit connect.

You should now be in business.

Hope that helps?

Hey!
Thanks for the reply.

I tried what you suggested, but unfortunately it still does not work. I assume the driver you are referring too is the CDM20802_Setup.exe containted in \MSTAR_ISP_Driver_Win7\CDM 2.06.00 WHQL Certified\CDM 2.06.00 WHQL Certified\ ?

Use these instructions on this page.

http://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic ... &start=200

Just follow the instructions and it will work.
I never used Linux before and even I got it to work.
